Memphis, Tenn.— The Memphis Urban League is thrilled to introduce Angelika Woods as the new Director of Communications and Outreach. With a wealth of over 15 years of experience in public relations and strategic communications, Woods is well-equipped to advance the organization’s mission of empowering communities and breaking down social and economic barriers.
In her new role, Woods will lead the League’s communications and outreach initiatives, with a focus on strengthening the organization’s connections with the Memphis community. Leveraging her robust background in media relations and campaign development, she will devise and execute strategies that align with the League’s objectives of promoting economic equality, civil rights, and community empowerment, paving the way for a brighter future.
“We are thrilled to welcome Angelika Woods to the Memphis Urban League,” said Gale Jones Carson, president and CEO. “Her commitment to community service and extensive public relations expertise will be essential in expanding our reach and enhancing our impact across Memphis.”
Woods is the CEO and Founder of Tailored Communications, where she successfully directs strategic campaigns for various businesses and nonprofits. She is known for her strong media relationships and ability to create customized communication plans that elevate community focused initiatives. Woods holds a master’s degree in public relations and a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Iowa.
“I am driven by a passion for helping those who are making a difference, gain the exposure and reach they deserve,” said Woods. “I am honored to join the Memphis Urban League and contribute to its mission of fostering economic and social equality.
