Keyboarding Essentials

Elevate your career with the Memphis Urban League Computer Training Center. Our extensive curriculum is designed to provide you with essential job skills, ensuring you remain competitive
in today’s evolving job market.

This 4-week session will focus on three essential points for keyboarding:

 

1. Proper Finger Placement: Place your fingers on the home row keys (A, S, D, F for the left hand and J, K, L, ; for the right hand). This helps ensure that your fingers are in the optimal position for efficient typing.

2. Maintain Good Posture: Sit up straight with your feet flat on the floor. Keep your wrists slightly elevated and avoid resting them on the keyboard or desk to prevent strain and improve typing speed.

3. Consistent Practice: Regular practice is key to improving your keyboarding skills.
Engage in daily typing exercises, focus on accuracy before speed, and use typing games or software to make practice enjoyable.
