A Memphian dedicated to the needs of Whitehaven, Westwood, Riverside, and South Memphis, Tim is ready to be your next school board commissioner.

 With more than 19 years of experience, Tim Green Jr. has a professional background in youth programming, community engagement, non-profit leadership, and primary and secondary education. Stemming from his time as a classroom teacher and school administration, he has championed for restorative practices in schools as well as advocating for the increased use of youth mental health resources that benefit the whole child. He founded The Dividend to teach young boys of color how to use their leadership skills effectively while understanding their own social and emotional well being. In addition, he co-founded Memphis Restorative Justice Coalition, an organization that creates and partners with community resources to decrease the amount of suspensions and expulsions in Shelby County.

Tim is the Principal Consultant for his own educational consulting firm. Formerly, Tim has served as an elementary and middle school teacher as well as an Elementary school Dean of Students. Tim is a proud product of Legacy Memphis City Schools and graduate of Whitehaven High School.

He earned a B.A. in Political Science from UT-Knoxville, M.Ed from Bethel University and is a student at The University of Memphis pursuing his Ed.D. with a concentration in Educational Leadership and Public Policy.

He is a member of Leadership Memphis, New Memphis Institute’s Embark program, and a 2019 Top 40 Under 40 Memphis Urban Elite Professionals Awardee. Tim has spoken to audiences about youth advocacy here in the United States and abroad, landing him the keynote at the 2019 Colosseum Sports Tech International Summit in Tel Aviv, Israel and a feature with The Education Trust. Tim continues his commitment to the youth of Memphis with his participation with the Shelby County Youth Mental Health Coalition, Tennessee Alliance for Equity In Education, and his board positions as the Vice Chair of Blues City Cultural Center and Board Chair of The Gen Next PAC.
