Comcast RISE: Empowering Small Businesses for Growth and SustainabilityIn a world of constant change, the resilience and adaptability of small businesses continue to inspire us. Today, we turn our spotlight to an initiative designed to uplift and support these local heroes: Comcast RISE.
Comcast RISE, an acronym for Representation, Investment, Strength, and Empowerment, was launched in 2020 to assist small businesses most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. With a committed focus on diversity, inclusion, and community investment, Comcast RISE has aided over 13,000 small businesses, contributing more than $110 million in monetary, marketing, and technology grants during its initial two-year term.
Now, as businesses shift their focus from recovery to expansion and growth, Comcast RISE is returning in an expanded form in 2023.
This year, the program will award 500 recipients in five cities, including Memphis, with a comprehensive grant package aimed at fostering sustainable growth.
So, what does the grant package include?
Each selected business will receive:
1. Business Consultation: Tailored assessment and tactical planning, business-to-business coaching, and mentorship to guide business growth.
2. Educational Resources: Customized content and resources based on the specific needs and lifecycle stage of each business.
3. Monetary Grant: A $5,000 grant to invest in the growth and sustainability of the business.
4. Creative Production & Media: Production of a 30-second TV commercial, a media strategy consultation, and a 180-day media placement schedule.
5. Technology Makeover: Computer equipment, and 12 months of Internet, Voice, and Cybersecurity services.
It’s important to note that applications will be open from June 1-30, 2023, for businesses located in Baltimore, Detroit, Memphis, Philadelphia, and Portland.
To be eligible, businesses must have been established for three or more years, have 100 or fewer full-time or part-time employees, and be independently owned and operated.
Comcast RISE is more than a grant program – it’s a testament to the unwavering belief in the potential of small businesses and entrepreneurs. It embodies the commitment to helping businesses and communities not only recover but also thrive, thereby contributing to local economic growth.
The Memphis Urban League encourages all eligible businesses to apply. Let’s rise together, with Comcast RISE.
